What is the date of The Great West Run 2024?

Sunday 26th May 2024.

Races will start from 09:00am, with exact race start times confirmed closer to the 2024 event.​

All race distances will start and finish at Exeter Arena

Runners must be 17 or older to take part in the half marathon, and 15 or older to take part in the 10K. There is no minimum age to take part in the Community Mile, but younger runners should be accompanied by an adult.

Entries cost £45 for the Half Marathon, plus booking fees.

If you entered online, you will receive a confirmation email shortly afterwards from our entry platform, Let’s Do This. If you have not received a confirmation email, please contact us at info@thegreatwestrun.co.uk

Entries close at 23:59 on Monday 20th May, or when the race capacity has been reached.

Race packs will be sent out in the weeks leading up to the race.

We advise against the use of iPods, MP3 players or other personal stereo devices to ensure runners are able to hear any announcements or medical alerts. 

No, we are unable to accept on the day entries.

No, only runners who have not received their running number in the post need to attend the registration desk on race day.

The race village is located at Exeter Arena

Absolutely! We love seeing our runners take part in fancy dress and are blown away each year by how creative the costumes are. All we ask is to be mindful of your fellow runners if you are taking part in a costume/fancy dress.

The cut-off time for 4 miles is 1 hour 10 minutes. At 3 hours 30 minutes, any participants remaining on the course will be asked to move onto the pavement. This is due to strict road re-opening times we have agreed with local stakeholders.

Yes. Our pacing team will be pacing finish times from 1 hour 30 minutes at 15 minutes intervals up to 2 hours 30 minutes.

 Yes, you can transfer your entry to another runner for an admin fee of £10. You must not, under any circumstances, give your race number to anyone else. Among other potential problems, doing so may cause problems of identification for the event medical services in the event of any accident or injury.

You are entitled to a refund within the first 7 days of signing up (the cooling off period). After this period we are unable to provide refunds.

Yes, you can defer your entry for an admin fee of £10. Unfortunately, if you have deferred from our 2023 event, you will not be able to defer again.

Yes, the deadline for deferring or transferring your entry is midday on Monday 6th May 2024.
